Waiting

Waiting is difficult, especially when you feel you need it or want it at a specific time.
 
So, what can we do while we wait?  Listen and find out.

To Link Up or Not

Matthew 18:19-20 CEV 
 I promise that when any two of you on earth agree about something you are praying for, my Father in heaven will do it for you. 20 Whenever two or three of you come together in my name, I am there with you.

The Recipe

When you come into God’s presence begin with adoration for your Father, tell God how great He is, how awesome he is and how much you love him, etc.; you know what to say, let it come from your heart
Submit & yield to God’s will allowing divine intervention to take place;
make sure you do not have any unconfessed sin or resentment!
Ask God to continue to provide for you and increase a yearning to study His Word to feed your spirit.
Ask God to protect you from the evil one and/or give you wisdom or how to get away from the tempter;
Then praise Him because it does say in the bible in Ps 22:3 that God inhabits the praises of his people!

Before You Move Forward

In last week’s podcast episode, the “Mismatch,” we discussed that when we pray the Word of God, we must think in line with what we are praying about; if not, unanswered prayer may be inevitable.  However, Before You Move Forward, I want to remind listeners of some hindrances that may block prayer.
 

The Mismatch

Now I’m excitement because of the discussion today, “The Mismatch!”  This is something, you may or may not know, so listen up. 
Prov 23:7a says “as a man thinks in his heart, so is he”, which means, whatever someone says is not necessarily what they think in their heart. Therefore, the results they receive, are what they’ve been thinking!

Now is the Time

Now’s the time, more than ever before, to go to God and pray; It is not the time to be afraid, but time to walk by faith.

Get Yourself Together!

“For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.” This means that what someone says or does is not necessarily what they think in their heart. Therefore, we are a byproduct or a result of the thoughts we have been thinking. “Help yourself, don’t be shy!” is what I said, and they did just that.  Why would I say that, if I did not mean it? Get yourself together, Sheryl!

Trust and Believe

The Living Bible says that faith is the confident assurance that something we want is going to happen. It is the certainty that what we hope for is waiting for us, even though we cannot see it up ahead.
Secondly, prayer is a communication with God.  We communicate by praising Him, confessing our sin before Him, thanking Him and asking Him for our needs and desires.
Faith & prayer are imperative, but the main thing is that you must Trust & Believe! 
 

Unshakable

Welcome to Thirst with Sheryl. A podcast making biblical truths plain. I’m your host Sheryl Tyner and today we are discussing “The Unshakable.”
The principle or foundation that we find from God’s word is that a wise man builds his house on the rock by hearing God’s word and by putting it into practice.  Therefore, we have to do what the Word of God says, not just hear it! 
Hear the word + do what the word says = unshakable, composed, tranquil, at peace, unworried
Hear the word + not doing what the word says/doing your own thing = shakable, troubled, panicked, anxious, worried

Rotten Fruit

This week, I wanted to take this time to discuss just a few challenges that I recognize people (Christian & non-Christians) have with their tongue.  However, the issues will be followed by a remedy! I will suggest an affirmation following the issue to help with the challenge. Of course, you may develop your own affirmation because, remember, as mentioned in a previous podcast, our Words are the vehicle which we communicate our thoughts and the tongue is the driver.
