In last week’s podcast episode, the “Mismatch,” we discussed that when we pray the Word of God, we must think in line with what we are praying about; if not, unanswered prayer may be inevitable. However, Before You Move Forward, I want to remind listeners of some hindrances that may block prayer.

Now I’m excitement because of the discussion today, “The Mismatch!” This is something, you may or may not know, so listen up.
Prov 23:7a says “as a man thinks in his heart, so is he”, which means, whatever someone says is not necessarily what they think in their heart. Therefore, the results they receive, are what they’ve been thinking!
Tune in for more!

Now’s the time, more than ever before, to go to God and pray; It is not the time to be afraid, but time to walk by faith.

“For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.” This means that what someone says or does is not necessarily what they think in their heart. Therefore, we are a byproduct or a result of the thoughts we have been thinking. “Help yourself, don’t be shy!” is what I said, and they did just that. Why would I say that, if I did not mean it? Get yourself together, Sheryl!

The Living Bible says that faith is the confident assurance that something we want is going to happen. It is the certainty that what we hope for is waiting for us, even though we cannot see it up ahead.
Secondly, prayer is a communication with God. We communicate by praising Him, confessing our sin before Him, thanking Him and asking Him for our needs and desires.
Faith & prayer are imperative, but the main thing is that you must Trust & Believe!

Welcome to Thirst with Sheryl. A podcast making biblical truths plain. I’m your host Sheryl Tyner and today we are discussing “The Unshakable.”
The principle or foundation that we find from God’s word is that a wise man builds his house on the rock by hearing God’s word and by putting it into practice. Therefore, we have to do what the Word of God says, not just hear it!
Hear the word + do what the word says = unshakable, composed, tranquil, at peace, unworried
Hear the word + not doing what the word says/doing your own thing = shakable, troubled, panicked, anxious, worried

This week, I wanted to take this time to discuss just a few challenges that I recognize people (Christian & non-Christians) have with their tongue. However, the issues will be followed by a remedy! I will suggest an affirmation following the issue to help with the challenge. Of course, you may develop your own affirmation because, remember, as mentioned in a previous podcast, our Words are the vehicle which we communicate our thoughts and the tongue is the driver.

Today, I want to discuss, speaking too quickly and/or not thinking before you speak; namely, “loose lips.”

Words go way back to the beginning of time, with God being identified as the Word Himself. John1:1 NIV In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God! So, nothing or not one thing was created without the Word.
God spoke words to create the world into existence. God spoke words to create mankind.
Now, mankind was made in God’s likeness and image. Which means mankind has the capability to speak words. Being that some are born mute, we need to thank God for our gift of speech! DON’T TAKE THAT BLESSING FOR GRANTED!
Heb 2:1 NIV We must pay the most careful attention to what we have heard so that we do not drift away…
&
2Tim 3:16-17 NIV All scripture is God Breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Today we are discussing “when you know better, you might do better!” Some say that the letters in the word bible, B I B L E, stand for Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth. I believe that the bible does help us with guidance on a multitude of issues. However, statistics show that there are a great number of Christians that do not read the bible.
Proverbs 16:2 NIV version says All a person’s ways seem pure to them, but motives are weighed by the Lord.
Hosea 4:6 says we are destroyed for the lack of knowledge.
Without understanding God and His word, God's people are destined for destruction.
At the end of each podcast session, I want to remind each listener of 2 scriptures:
Heb 2:1 NIV We must pay the most careful attention to what we have heard so that we do not drift away…&
2Tim 3:16-17 NIV All scripture is God Breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
